Family Tree ("the app", developer: Nest) lets people build a shared family tree. This page explains what data the app handles.
To run the app: sign you in, show and sync your family tree, send invite links, and (with your permission) notify you about birthdays and anniversaries. We do not sell your data and we do not show third-party ads.
When you add a relative you are entering personal data about someone else. Only add information you have the right to share. Any relative can claim their own profile and edit it, and anyone can ask us to remove their data using the contact below.
Data is stored on Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Authentication) and encrypted in transit. Family details are visible to other signed-in members connected to the same family tree. We share data only with Google as our infrastructure provider.
You can request deletion of your account and its data at any time — see Delete your account. Deletion removes your sign-in account, your own profile and its photos, and your settings within 30 days; connections and information other members added about shared relatives may be retained.
Family Tree is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
